Hinderer Hardware Kit: XM-24 - Brass
Hinderer folders are easy to disassemble and change the configuration or make upgrades. One of the coolest features about their folders is that you can customize them to make your's look just how you want it to. This hardware kit comes with all the hardware you need to replace your XM-24 specific hardware with these brass versions. Designed for XM-24. See parts commonality below.
Kit contains:
- One (1) 'B-1' pivot screw (Fits XM-18 3.5 Inch, XM-24, Jurassic, MP-1, Half Track, Eklipse)
- One (1) Lockbar Stabilizer w/stainless screw
- Three (3) 'A-10' Scale Screws (XM-18 3.5 inch, XM-24)
- Three (3) 'F-14' Handle Nuts (XM-24 only)
- Three (3) 'Charlie' Stand Offs (XM-2, XM-18 3.5 inch FATTY)
Please note: For those apes out there, install carefully. Use of the wrong tools or incorrect installation may bugger up the finish or ruin a piece! Use the correct tools and take your time, and you will have a super sweet looking knife! Obviously DLC is tough, but if ya start mashin' on these with steel tools, you will mar them up!
Notes on Brass:
This is a disclaimer for all you folks who slept through high school chemistry class or somehow not aware of the nature of brass. All metals will change colors and looks over time depending on use, environment etc. This is especially true with brass. This means it may get a darker, may change colors with patina, or it may get shiny and polished where it is rubbed by another material (like say your pocket). If ya want it to stay all shiny and new looking, you will have to keep polishing it with a product like Brasso or any of the homegrown solutions you can find with an internet search. OR, you can accept that what make brass a cool material is that your piece will change over time and tell its own stories and truly become one of a kind.
