Milt Sparks Holsters: Summer Special 2
To talk about the Summer Special 2 (or SS-2), we have to touch on the OG. The original Bruce Nelson Summer Special, designed in '67, is arguably the most iconic IWB holster ever made. Milt Sparks began producing his Summer Special (or S/S) in the mid-70's with Bruce's permission to help meet the demand that Bruce alone could not. Milt's Summer Special took the design, and tweaked it to add some of his own additions. You can read up more on the Summer Special's design and features on our Summer Special page.
Fast forward to 1992, and the Summer Special 2 is released from Milt Sparks. It builds off of the original Summer Special while incorporating features from other Milt Sparks Holsters models. The medium-low ride height, "FBI" rake, and close carry positioning makes the SS-2 one of the most concealable holsters from Milt Sparks while still riding high enough for full, fast access to the entire grip. Features include:
- Like the original Summer Special, the SS-2 is traditionally offered with a rough-out cowhide construction with smooth out mouth band and loops (but unlike the original, is available in black with horsehide construction).
- Steel-reinforced cowhide mouth band that makes sure that the SS-2 stays open and ready, even when empty and being pressed in by your belt and pants.
- Integrated sweat guard works double time to keep your sweat from contacting your gun, and keeps the hard angles and uncomfortable components of your gun from pressing into your soft squishy bits.
- Like the original, the SS-2 features sewn in sight rails to give clearance for your front sight, so there are no snags when drawing or re-holstering.
- One-way Snap loops for easy donning and doffing, that are easily removable and replaceable.
Note: these holsters are not optics-ready unless denoted on the model selection with "Optics Ready". Optics compatibility depends on the exact optic you are using, so be aware that some will not fit.

Notes on Leather:
What do leather items and underwear have in common? In both cases people don't want to buy one that somebody else has tried on. Leather comes from animals and every animal has it's own hide that will have its own unique character representative of its origins. Some variaton from pictured should be expected.
