About this model: Known as "The Pacific", this knife was designed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the elite 1st Special Forces Group based in Ft. Lewis, Washington. The name Pacific comes from 1st Groups AO of Asia and The Pacific. Chris Reeve Knives has teamed again with legendary designer Bill Harsey to produce an outstanding field knife worthy of the name. The Pacific features full tang construction with a micarta scales. The handle is contoured and has ridges for exceptional grip and comfort. The bottom of the handle has a slight protrusion that acts as a class breaker. The clip point blade is made from S35VN stainless. The version features a black KG Gunkote finish and partially serrated blade.
About CPM S35VN: CPM S35VN is stainless steel that is basically a product improved version of CPM S30V. Chris Reeve worked with Crucible steel to refine the alloy mixture. There is an addition of Niobium to the alloy which results in better edge retention and toughness as well as corrosion resistance when compared to CPM S30V.
