Pro-Tech Knives: Runt 5 - Two Tone/AlBronze - CCKS Spring

The Pro-Tech Runt 5 is as the name suggests a small automatic blade that is perfect for a back up blade or small EDC. The small design makes Runt 5 a very EDC friendly blade as you can throw it in your pants pocket, lightweight shorts, in a suit, or thrown in a pack/sling bag without being obtrusive. The Wharncliffe/sheepsfoot blade profile is superb for utilitarian tasks and features a stonewashed finish. The firing button is recessed to prevent accidental firing, however with the milled relief, easy to find and activate when needed. To deploy the blade simply press the button. To close, simply press the button, close the blade into the frame and release the button. The handle features slight contouring and milled texturing for a solid 2-3 finger grip and a deep carry pocket clip to keep everything in its place. The butt-end features a machined lanyard hole for attaching a lanyard or bead.

The Frame: Albronze frame with textured milling, satin hardware, and black deep carry pocket clip. Abalone inlaid into the firing button.

The Blade: Wharncliffe/sheepsfoot blade profile with a two tone finiswith satin flats and black DLC bevels.

Notes on Bronze: This is a disclaimer for all you folks who slept through high school chemistry class or somehow not aware of the nature of bronze. All metals will change colors and looks over time depending on use, environment etc. This is especially true with bronze. This means it may get a darker, may change colors with patina, or it may get shiny and polished where it is rubbed by another material (like say your pocket). If ya want it to stay all shiny and new looking, you will have to keep polishing it with a product like Brasso or any of the homegrown solutions you can find with an internet search. OR, you can accept that what makes bronze a cool material is that your piece will change over time and tell its own stories and truly become one of a kind.
