In some ways Starlingear is actually an artist haven. Although Ryk Maverick steers the creative direction, he has a great affinity for fine, handcrafted things and the people that build them. Many of the Starlingear items incorporate the work of these other artists. Unlike many makers, Ryk is happy to give the credit and "share the spotlight" so to speak. The gentleman who does the braided leather work for Starlingear is named Ish. He has been building high end, custom, tack for horses for over 20 years. Each of these braided bands is completely hand made from a single piece of leather and hand finished. They are a perfect way to wear your S-Gear beads.
Note:
Each batch will vary a bit in color, some are darker, some lighter. Please realize that these will not fit EVERY Starlingear bead hole in the bead can vary in size. Particularly the two part beads (the ones with headgear) can be a bit tricky to thread. We have found using a product like Pecard Leather Dressing helps soften em up and lube em for insertion into the bead.
- The sizes listed are the actual length of the leather band from tip to tip. It is recommended that you order at least one inch larger than your actual wrist size. Go more than one inch larger if you want to wear yours a bit looser or have a larger bead.
