NOTICE! DUE TO COVID-19:

Due to the current world situation, all carriers are experiencing shipping transit delays and customs clearance delays. All carriers have suspended Shipping Guarantee timeframes. This means that if a package is not delivered by the original delivery date, such as for FedEx Overnight and 2Day shipments, they will NOT be refunding shipping fees. While the grand majority are still being delivered on time, there are delays and there have been some missed dates. Keep that in mind when placing your order.

For international orders, we have seen large increases in standard outgoing/incoming clearance processing. Depending on your country and their processing queue, we have seen month or longer increases in clearance times, not including any other carrier delays in transit. FedEx on average has MUCH faster clearance time frames, so may be a better option for some folks. Keep these delays in mind when ordering, as we have zero control over transit and clearance times. Be prepared for long processing and having to be patient for your gear to get to you.

Monkey Edge ships orders Monday through Friday. Orders are processed and shipped in the order they are received. Normally, orders placed before 2PM AZ time ship same day or next business day. Any delays regarding your order may postpone shipment to a later date.

Please read the guidelines for shipping below. Note that all Monkey Edge orders may ship with a required signature, and for almost all orders we cannot waive this. Some shipping methods may require proof of address for delivery. Monkey Edge will combine orders for shipping purposes at our own discretion. Combined orders may not be eligible for shipping fee refunds depending on the details of the orders/packages. If you have any questions about these or our other policies, please contact us prior to ordering.

Problems with a Shipment

If your package looks to be lost, you MUST let Monkey Edge Know within 7 days of the last tracking event. If the package has been damaged or marked as “delivered” but has not been delivered to you, you must let us know within 48 hours. If the package has been delivered, but is missing contents, you must let us know within 48 hours, and you will have to keep every piece of the package that was delivered to you (important for the claim to be approved). There are time frames to which we can file claims for legitimately lost packages, and it takes us time to go through the processes of tracing and claiming. Any package that is lost, etc, and NOT notified to us in this time frame will be ineligible for an insurance claim, and will not be refunded. All shipping carriers like to deny claims first, and make us try to prove the situation. Unfortunately, the tools that are available to look into a case are all with the carrier, and if it is too long between 'problem' and the case opening, they will not look into the matter further. SO, if YOU want a chance at a refund, YOU need to tell us when things go wrong ASAP.

How Shipping Insurance Works

Most folks don't understand how shipping insurance works, so this is a brief primer. Hopefully you will never have to know this process first hand, but if you are, this is what you need to know and what you should expect:

  • Step One: Tell us of the problem ASAP! See above details regarding the time frame to get a case started, and what you might need to do.
  • Next, if you have not already started a case with the carrier, we will. Most carriers require an investigation before a claim can be filed.
  • Once the investigation has been concluded (can be a few days, can be a week or more), we will likely be able to file a claim.
  • The carrier will review the claim. In 90% of the claims we file, the carrier will deny it right off the batt. Like most insurance cases, they have a billion loopholes that they fall back on that make it so it is not their fault. This is why it is EXTREMELY important that you contact us ASAP after a problem arises with your shipment.
  • We will fight the carrier's claim department. Hopefully, we are able to talk with a reasonable human, and get the claim accepted, and reimbursed.
The time frame and details for your reimbursement relies heavily on a lot of factors. We pay out more insurance claims from of our own pocket than from claim funds, but we can't cover them all. The reality is that having shipping insurance does not mean coverage in any situation. We will do everything we can to get you a payout, but there are situations where we will be unable to reimburse you on a loss. Such as, not being able fight a claim because the carrier cannot further investigate an issue due to time passed, the customer not having the received packaging in a "items are missing" type claim, etc. It is also worth noting that if you have a package re-routed to a different address or held at a facility, that renders the carrier's insurance coverage VOID, and they will no longer cover the package. A lot of folks ask us why we have such restrictive shipping policies, and it is because half of the decisions the recipient can make will void coverage (unbeknownst to them), and we won't assume the risks that the customer chooses to take after the package leaves our hands. If they want to void potential coverage, we can't have them make that call without knowing the details.

US Domestic Shipping Policies

Please note: Monkey Edge can and will combine multiple orders going to the same address. When combined, any tracking information you receive will be for all included orders. If you need shipments to be separate, let us know prior to shipping. We will accommodate all requests we can, but due to the lightning quick service you know and love, we have to consolidate as much as possible to make sure you get your gear ASAP! If you need super special handling on your orders, it may add some processing time to the shipment.

Currently, all FedEx services levels have suspended their delivery time frame Guarantees. Meaning, a 2Day package has no guarantee it will be delivered in 2 days, Overnight packages are not guaranteed to be delivered next day, etc.

FedEx

Ground/Home Delivery

Full tracking and insurance. Shipping time normally varies from 2-5 business days (not counting the day it was shipped). FedEx Ground Home Delivery (residential addresses) normally delivers Tuesday through Saturday. FedEx Ground (commercial addresses) normally deliver Monday through Friday. Please understand that the 5 day transit time means one full week till your package is delivered. If you want it quicker, we suggest that you use FedEx Express services.

FedEx 2Day

Full tracking and insurance. This service is generally delivered in 2 business days. FedEx 2Day delivers Monday through Friday. Please note that the two days are for shipping transit time, not counting the day it was shipped. It does not mean that your order will be processed the day it is received. If you have special time needs, please call us and we will be happy to discuss what accommodations we can make for you.

FedEx Standard Overnight

Full tracking and insurance. This service is generally delivered in 1 business day. FedEx Standard Overnight delivers Monday through Friday. Please note that the 1 business day is for shipping transit time. It does not mean that your order will be processed the day it is received. If you have special time needs, please call us and we will be happy to discuss what accommodations we can make for you.

USPS

Note: We currently will not offer any coverage for USPS Mail. Their reliability has dramatically fallen in the last couple years and they are not paying out insurance claims. If you ship with USPS, you do so at your own risk. No exceptions.

USPS First Class Mail

NO INSURANCE. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. If your package goes missing, is not delivered or is delayed, we will not reimburse the package. Basically, if you care about getting your stuff, do not use First Class Mail. Period. This method is only good up to 13 ounces packed weight.

Shipping transit times can vary greatly from 3 to 14 days. There is no guaranteed delivery confirmation or tracking number. Please understand that we are NOT responsible for any loss or damage should you select this method of shipping. We are happy to offer the cheap service, but please understand its limitations and risks.

USPS Priority Mail

NO INSURANCE. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. If your package goes missing, is not delivered or is delayed, we will not reimburse the package/order. Basically, if you care about getting your stuff, do not use USPS. Period. Shipping transit time is normally 2-3 business days, but that is not guaranteed by the post office and it often takes longer. This method has a delivery confirmation number. This is not the same as a tracking number from FedEx. They do NOT always scan the package at every step of the way. In fact, many times they only scan it when it gets put on your local carrier's truck for final delivery. This means that when you "track" it you might not see any scans other than something like: “The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on August 27, 2021 to expect your package for mailing.”

USPS Priority Express Mail

NO INSURANCE. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. If your package goes missing, is not delivered or is delayed, we will not reimburse the package/order. Basically, if you care about getting your stuff, do not use USPS. Period. Shipping transit time is overnight to many places, normally arriving in 1-2 business days, This method has a delivery confirmation number.

PLEASE NOTE: Transit time does NOT include the day it ships, and we do not ship at all on weekends. If you place your order after 2 PM on a Friday, you should not expect your order to arrive on Saturday. It won't ship until Monday, and you probably won't receive it until Wednesday.

International Shipping Policies

Monkey Edge does a high percentage of our business outside the US. Unlike many dealers, we do not gouge our overseas shipping rates. The methods below are the ones most commonly used. If you have special shipping needs, please do not hesitate to contact us at service@monkeyedge.com

Regarding Customs/Importing Items

Monkey Edge will do everything we can to accommodate your shipping needs, within reason. Please ask us any questions for special handling prior to placing an order. Monkey Edge relies on each customer to know their own specific import and possession laws, as we cannot hope to begin to know every country's (and their subsequent province's, city's, municipality's, etc) import and ownership laws. Do your own research and find out what you can and cannot own or import (often two different things). If any item is seized by your customs, Monkey Edge cannot reimburse you. Insurance is designed to protect against damaged and lost parcels, not items stopped because your customs stopped you from importing them.

Additionally, research your country's import rules and regulations. Most countries require the receiving party (the customer) to pay some sort of import fee or duty. Each country is different, so find out your rules. Returned shipment that are refused due to import issues (refusing a package, illegal to import, failure to pay import fees, etc) will be refunded minus our shipping costs (return shipping is astronomically more expensive than outgoing shipping) and a 10% restocking fee.

Please note that all prices are subject to change, and some areas will require further fee's when the carrier calculates final rate at time of shipping. Actual final calculated packages may necessitate changing the shipping method.

FedEx

FedEx International Priority PAK

2 Days Transit Time (does not include Customs clearance times).

For small light packages (under 2 pounds FINAL shipping weight, NO exceptions) delivered in a speedy, trackable manner, this is the way to go. Full tracking number and insurance. Not available in all regions or on packages over 2 pounds. Some packages may not actually be eligible for PAK and will need a different shipping method (to be determined at actual shipping). PLEASE NOTE: PAK shipping rates are subject to change at final shipping if the final package weighs more than can be shipped, or if your address is subject to FedEx's Extended Service Area fee. This fee is determined by FedEx going off your address, and we have no control over it, and are only notified of this when we are actually shipping the package. We will contact you if the package is not eligible for PAK, or if the shipment is subject to FedEx’s Extended Service Area Fee. This fee is a flat rate $20 fee. If your address falls into a FedEx Extended Service Area, we will require an additional shipping fee, or we can change your order to another shipping method you would prefer.

FedEx International Priority

2 Days Transit Time (does not include Customs clearance times)

Generally the fastest international shipping option with tracking. Full tracking number and insurance.

FedEx International Economy

Typically 4-6 Days Transit Time (does not include Customs clearance times)

Perfect for securely shipping large packages. Full tracking number and insurance.

USPS

PLEASE NOTE: We currently will not offer any insurance coverage for USPS Mail. Their reliability has dramatically fallen in the last couple years and they are not paying out insurance claims. If you ship with USPS, you do so at your own risk. No exceptions.

USPS First Class International

NO INSURANCE. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. If your package goes missing, is not delivered or is delayed, we will not reimburse the package/order. Basically, if you care about getting your stuff, do not use USPS. Period. SLOW, LOW PRIORITY. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OPTION, BUT HAVE IT DUE TO FOLKS NOT WANTING TO PAY FOR GOOD SHIPPING OPTIONS. USPS First Class Mail is very low priority, and experiences frequent extreme (2-3+ months!) delays. If you use this method, we will not insure the package, we will not reimburse it if something goes wrong. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! Basically, this is a BAD shipping service, and we warn you against considering it. Deliveries generally take 7-21 or more days to arrive, although the USPS does not guarantee delivery dates or times and this method is prone to massive delays. Mail may travel to its destination by ship, ground, air or a combination of the three. This method does not always offer tracking outside of the US and is not insured. We are unable to file a claim for lost packages. Use at your own risk. Please understand that we are NOT responsible for any loss or damage should you select this method of shipping. We grudgingly offer this cheap service, but please understand its limitations. There will be frequent cases of delays and no tracking updates. How many times do we have to say it: this is not a good method and you should not pick it if you actually care about your stuff showing up in a timely manner (or at all).

USPS Priority Mail International

NO INSURANCE. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. If your package goes missing, is not delivered or is delayed, we will not reimburse the package/order. Basically, if you care about getting your stuff, do not use USPS. Period.

Transit times are 6-10 days but this is NOT guaranteed and can take much longer with customs delays. This method has a tracking number to most destinations.

Please note: Due to the complexity and fees of international shipping, and lack of any "flat" rates, any Free or Flat Rate shipping promotions only extends to domestic orders. Please contact us with any questions.
