What is Ultem? So glad you asked! Ultem has been around since the 80's but has only been used in the "EDC" world for a decade or so. At its core, Ultem is a resin thermoplastic that is famous for its high temperature and chemical resistance, while being incredibly strong and resistant to stress fractures and cracking found in most plastics. It does all this while staying incredibly lightweight and able to be precisely machined for intricate parts. Because of this, it has found great success in many industries, and especially in the aerospace industry where parts and components must hold up against severe temperatures changes and stresses, and do it while staying light. We especially love it becuase it does all this, and does it looking AWESOME! The natural Ultem color remindes us of vintage materials like Westinghouse micarta and bakelite, with a translucent property that just looks RAD! And if its natural amber color ain't your think, it comes in black!

The Caveman Version: Ultem is tough! You melt before it melts! If you manage to break it, you musta been doing something REAL "smart". They use it in planes, and it looks cool!

Ready to Write

Tactile offers several different mechanisms to fit your writing and carrying style. The classic Bolt Action gives you a functional and fun way to deploy your pen. A simple flip of the thumb gets the tip out, and an equally simple and satisfying press retracts the tip. You will find yourself playing with the mech for hours, and the low profile design keeps unwanted deployments at bay.

Putting the "Tactile" in Tactile Turn

Tactile's signature texture and finish shows off their attention to detail and precise execution. Micro ridges span the length of the pen body, with a clean, satin machined finish that looks great and feels better - giving you a solid grip wihtout being aggressive to the touch.

Which Pen Is Right For YOU

Tactile offers pens in three different lengths to fit your needs: Standard, Short, and Mini. The Standard size uses the Pilot G2 ink cartridge and is the workhorse of the lineup, perfect for any occasion and easy to write with all day long. The Short uses the Schmidt EasyFlow ink cartridge and mixes ease of writing and carrying, comfortable for long writing sessions while staying easy to carry in the pocket. The Mini uses the Pilot Mini G2 ink cartridge, and is big enough to write all day while staying most compact of the three.
