Monkey Edge Policies

Due to the current world situation, all carriers are experiencing shipping transit delays and customs clearance delays. All carriers have suspended Shipping Guarantee timeframes. This means that if a package is not delivered by the original delivery date, such as for FedEx Overnight and 2Day shipments, they will NOT be refunding shipping fees. While the grand majority are still being delivered in that time frame, there are delays and there have been some missed dates. Keep in mind when placing your order. For international orders, we have seen large increases in standard outgoing/incoming clearance processing. Depending on your country and their processing queue, we have seen month or longer increases in clearance, not taking in to account any other delays in transit. FedEx on average has MUCH faster clearance time frames, so may be a better option for some folks. Keep these delays in mind when ordering, as we have zero control over transit and clearance times. Be prepared for long processing and having to be patient for your gear to get to you. Please review our shipping policies for more info on what options we offer.

Monkey Edge ships orders Monday through Friday. Orders are processed and shipped in the order they are received. Normally, orders placed before 2PM AZ time ship same day or next business day. Any delays regarding your order will postpone shipment.

Please read the guidelines for shipping below. For Free Shipping details please see domestic shipping options. Note that all Monkey Edge orders may ship with a required signature. Some shipping methods may require proof of address for delivery. Monkey Edge will combine orders for shipping purposes at our own discretion. Combined orders may not be eligible for shipping fee refunds.

Monkey Edge puts signature confirmation on most packages we ship. In almost all cases, a package that would require a signature cannot have the signature service waived. If you have any questions, please contact us prior to ordering.

If your package has been damaged, lost or mis-delivererd, you MUST let Monkey Edge Know within 7 days of the final event. There are time frames to which we can file claims for legitimately lost packages, and it takes us time to go through the processes of tracing and claiming. Any package that is lost, etc, and NOT notified to us in this time frame will be ineligible for an insurance claim, and will not be refunded.

Payment Methods:
Credit cards

We accept all major credit cards for payment. Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover. Our site uses a secure server and all data is transmitted encrypted. All credit card information is automatically deleted from the secure server every 14 days. Using your credit card is safe and secure at Monkey Edge. Your order is charged at the time it is placed. If any items are out of stock, we will issue a refund the next business day. We only accept credit cards that support a full address verification. If your card only supports a partial address, i.e. ZIP Code only, the card likely will not process correctly, and if the system does manage to place the order, we will not accept the payment.

If you are a new customer with Monkey Edge, or are using a new payment method (a new credit card for example), we can only ship orders paid by credit/debit cards to the card's verified billing address. If you wish to ship to an address other than the billing address, please check out with a Verified PayPal account, or another option.

Payment by mail (Check or Money Order):
You can place an order through our site and select to pay by mail with check or money order. Your items are pulled and held until funds arrive.

You have 24 hours to contact us to confirm your order and that the money is on the way, and have 7 days from the date of placing the order for the funds to reach us. If funds are not received within one week, we cancel the order and return the items to stock.

We have had many problems in the past of people placing orders and us holding the product only for them to never pay or cancel the order. If any customer should not pay or cancel more than 2 pay by mail orders we will no longer hold products for that customer. We value your business. However, when you do not pay it ties up our inventory and keeps other customers from being able to purchase those items. It is also work for us to pull and process an order only to not get paid for it.

Any check that is returned unpaid (i.e. a bounced check) is subject to a $25 fee in addition to the original amount of the check and must be paid in certified funds. If a bounced check and fee remain unpaid, we will report it to the national check verification company that we use. DO NOT USE THIS METHOD to "hold" items for you to arrange a Credit Card order. We will cancel the order and make you place a new order to process the credit card.

Pay Pal:
We accept Pay Pal. Please note that Pay Pal payment is expected at time of checkout. We will not hold items for Pay Pal payment at a later date. If an order is placed for payment by PayPal and not paid, our system cancels it.

Order Cancellations:
All cancelled orders are subject to a 5% handling fee. When you place an order, we pay a credit card/payment processing fee. If you cancel that order, when we refund the payment, we are not reimbursed that fee. We want you to get what you are looking for, but we are not going to pay the fees if you change your mind. This includes any order placed and cancelled, whether you meant to place it or not. Before you click that "Place Order" button, be sure you actually want to move forward with the order. When you place an order and cancel it, you are tying up inventory, costing us time and money in fees, and just making more work for everybody.

Payment Due Dates
Monkey Edge reserves the right to cancel any order that has not been paid for at the time of order submission. We allow Flex Pay orders as well as payment by Money Order by Mail for many orders, but certain items are not eligible for "pay later" payment methods. We generally state this on the product page, but certain items may not qualify and may not have a written notice (usually for high-demand products). We also will cancel any order that is blatantly taking advantage of these payment methods as a way to 'get your order in' faster than other customers. We will cancel an order if we feel this is what is going on. This practice will not be tolerated, and is unfair for those that take an extra few moments to get their order's paid. We don't like trying to chase down folks for payments for days, when there is a line of customers wishing they had the chance to buy an item. If we see this pattern develop, we will bar the customer account from using 'pay later' methods, whether or not the customer wants to legitimately use that method for an eligible item. So if you are trying to check out fast, and you pick "Money Order" or "Flex Pay" as your payment method and then email or call us asking for us to send a PayPal invoice or to give us your credit card, be prepared for us to cancel your order and instruct you to place the order again with a payment attached. Basically, PAY FOR YOUR GEAR WHEN YOU CHECK OUT. Not doing so is inviting us to cancel your gear from under you. If you are legitimately using Money Order payments or Flex Pay Payments, contact us ASAP, within 24 hours, to let us know.

Monkey Edge is not responsible for pricing errors on our website. We will always contact a customer prior to shipping to inform them if there has been an error in pricing. Bottom line is this: we are still just people and sometimes make a mistake. There are times where something strange will pop up for 2 cents or even a negative price. We are not a large enough company to just "eat" those mistakes (heck even the big guys won't in all cases). So if you see a $1000 knife that somehow was entered at $0.10, don't expect us to eat it. 

Preorder Products:
Some items on our site are listed as preorders. These are items that we are due to receive from the manufacturer in the near future. By placing a preorder you are agreeing with our preorder conditions listed below:

1) Please do not order other items with your preorder. If you do, we will separate the in stock items and ship them right away. There will be additional shipping charges as now there will be two shipments (regular items and preorders). 
2) Please do not order different preorder items on the same order. If you do, we will separate them and ship them as they arrive and there will be additional shipping charges.

3) Product photo is usually of a preproduction prototype. Final product may differ slightly in color and or content.
4) Product estimated ship date is from the manufacturer. Some products will miss their estimated ship date due to manufacturer delays. Monkey Edge is not responsible for product delays from the manufacturer. We ship them as soon as we get them. 

5) There will also be times where the manufacturer ships them in "waves". Preorders from Monkey Edge are shipped in the order that they were received.

Credit Cards: Your preorder will be charged when the order is placed. If you want to cancel a preorder, you will have to do so in writing and we will issue a refund. If you do not want to pay in full at time of order you can select "Money Order by Mail" and we will contact you when the product arrives for payment information.

Pay by Mail: We will send you a final invoice when we have confirmation that the product is inbound to us. You will have 7 days from the date of this invoice to have your payment in to us.

Pay Pal: We will send you a final Pay Pal invoice when we have confirmation that the product is inbound to us. You will have 3 days from the date of this invoice to have your payment in to Monkey Edge.

Flex Pay Conditions (Updated 9/25/2020):

Monkey Edge is happy to offer a chance to obtain that special knife on easy to manage payment terms. Please read and understand the conditions prior to placing a Flex Pay order.
  • Item must be $400 or more
  • No more than one Flex Pay item at a time (before you can place another item on Flex Pay, you must pay off your prior Flex Pay)
  • Item will be paid for over a period of 30 days in 3 equal payments and will ship upon the final payment.
  • To start a Flex Pay, add your item to check out and select "Flex Pay" as your payment option. You need to contact us within 24 hours with your payment info or we will automatically cancel your order. Customers abusing this will be placed on the No Fly list.
  • You must contact us every 15 days to make payment BY the due date.
  • There is a non refundable 10% of the original price restocking fee if you should cancel the order prior to shipping. In our $600 example below, that would mean it would cost you $60 to cancel the order.
  • We do not allow items to be swapped on Flex Pay Orders. You may cancel one and start another, but this will incur the cancellation fee. Our inventory changes frequently, so if you are not okay with this rule, do not start a Flex Pay.
  • The first payment is due the day the order is placed. If the order is placed on a night or weekend, it is due the next business day. The time period for payments starts the first business day of/after the order being place.
Additionally, It is your responsibility to contact us for your payments. If you'd like to pay through a Verified PayPal account, let us know by email or on the order notes at checkout and we will get all three of the payments set up for you. Late payments are subject to a 10% additional fee for the late payment (example, if you are late on your $200 payment, you will have to pay an additional $20 in late fees). If paying by pre-made invoices, we will send an additional invoice at the end of your flex pay with any lay fees that must be paid before the item will ship. We don't want to charge extra, but due to continual abuse of the Flex Pay system, we are making the due dates more strict.

Flex Pay Example:
  • July 15th - you place an order for a $600 knife. You contact us with payment information and you will pay $200 plus the shipping charge
  • July 30th - You need to contact us for another $200 payment
  • Aug 15th - You need to contact us for the final $200 payment and your knife will ship
  • Aug 15th - You need to contact us for the final $200 payment and your knife will ship

Military, Law Enforcement, EMS Discount:
Monkey Edge is proud to serve those who put it on the line all over the globe. We offer a discount program for active duty military, law enforcement, and EMS personnel. Due to some pretenders, we now need verification of credentials in order to establish your discount account. You can send a copy of your ID or creds to and we can set up your account and send you the guidelines. Pro Tip: Having an account set up with us prior to submitting for the program will definitely speed up the enrollment.

Monkey Edge Product Limit Policies:
We get it! You want to grab as many of these hard to get items as you can. Heck, we want to SELL you as many as we can. Unfortunately, there are just too many asses, and not enough seats. With that in mind, Monkey Edge sets limits for certain products. If the site tells you that you can’t add more than a certain amount, or if there is specific text on a product description noting the limit, please follow the rules. We DO check, and if we find someone in violation, we will cancel all relevant orders with no warning. We aren’t trying to be mean, just trying to spread the love. Now, we ain’t fancy lawyers or nothing, so we aren’t going to put out 10 pages of legal-ese. When we set a limit, you know if you are following the spirit of the rule or not. If you are trying to snag a super hot item, and your “wife” now suddenly also loves that maker/knife, you might want to re-think placing the second order. While there are legitimate cases where members of the same household all want the same things, we have to stick to the limit because if we didn’t the pool of available knives just went out the window. If you think about it, if we didn't have this limit, technically a husband, wife, 3 kids and the grandma they take care of suddenly could all desire the new, hot item, and six knives just got taken out of the pool. In most cases, this is complete B.S. trying to game the system. As such, we have a limit in place. If multiple members of the same household really love the same product, you might have to rochambeau for it. Again, there is a definite spirit to this rule, and so we’d rather that all of us play nice rather than us having to come down being all strict and mean. If we play by the rules, there will be more projects. If you act like a sneaky jackal, everyone will hate you and we will not sell you stuff. So, be a rockstar and play by the rules, else we will publicly shame you into oblivion! Thanks!!
