From the British Fairbairn–Sykes fighting knife, the Gerber MKII, Applegate dagger, etc. many modern anti-personnel knives have favored a double edged, dagger profile, design. The problem with many daggers is that they trade durability and utility for piercing ability. However, Medford has taken the modern anti-personnel design to the next level. Like its ancestors it has a double edge dagger like profile that provides excellent penetration ability. However by increasing the thickness of the stock to .260 inch, as well as the width of the blade, the JF-1 is a dagger that is durable enough for hard field use as well. Those hooks are not for sawing like traditional serrations, they are for straight tearing through soft materials. Its oversized choil and thumb ramp grooves allow the user to choke up on the knife for fine work. This one has a black PVD finish with OD green peel ply textured G10 handle.
