Description

Maximus: "At my signal, unleash hell!"
Well boys and girls, Hinderer knives has done just that and then some! Rick has been intrigued by the idea for some time and has been refining his design concept for a few years now to get it 'just right'. When you get a hold of the Maximus, you will agree immediately that he nailed it.

  • Legendary Hinderer Knives build quality and precision
  • True symmetrical design that the frame totally encapsulates the blade
  • Titanium frame with recessed G10 scale overlays for a multi-layer contrast and outstanding grip
  • Clip can be attached to either side of the frame

The Blade: Double edge (as in sharp on both sides) dagger profile gives you twice the cutting edge (so you can use one side for your rough 'chore' cutting, and leave the other razor sharp for other uses). It also makes you twice as cool cause double edge daggers are freaking bitchin! It also means you can't be an idiot with it or you can cut yourself. Just realize the other side is sharp and one hand close it using the tab rather than the spine of the blade. Finished with Hinderer's Battle black DLC finish.

The Frame: Titanium frame in Hinderer's Battle black DLC finish with textured woven carbon fiber scales. All black nitride coated stainless steel hardware.

Notes on DLC Finishes: This is a heads up for those not up to speed with DLC coatings (or pretty much any any coating or finish). Let us break it down for ya: you probably have been fortunate enough at one point in time get to paint the interior of your house. Lucky for you, the decided hue is some really special and unique color not available in the pre-made buckets. You do some math to figure out how much each room needs, so you can get enough in one go. But why do all those maths? Why not just get a bit, and if you run out get more? Well, because with any paint that needs to be made up, each batch can vary slightly. Every batch might be close to one another, but not exact. Furthermore, say you have the same color, but get part made up in an eggshell sheen, and some in a satin sheen. The colors might be about the same, but they are gonna look WAY different. Suddenly, your interior walls ain't matching up perfectly. Well, this same exact logic applies to coatings! Batch to batch, the colors of the coating may or may not match exactly! Furthermore, depending on the finish and prep of the metal prior to the coating, there will be variation on sheen and shade for the same color finish. Now, for the walls in your house, it might be a big deal if they don't match perfectly. Fortunately, having each of your hard use tools and the parts on them matching up perfectly to one another isn't so big a deal! If it is... well maybe you should be matching up your Barbie collection's outfits instead.

Notes About Tumbled Finishes: This is a crash course for those that are either unaware of the nature of tumbled finishes, or can't stand it when their shoes and purse don't match. So get this: when a maker chooses to do a tumbled or stonewashed finish, the core of the process is comprised of throwing those precious parts in a big bowl of rocks and then shaking said bowl a bunch! Surprisingly, what results are parts that sort of look like, well, they were thrown in a bowl of rocks and shook up. Basically, they tumble all around, and get beat up by the rocks. Even more crazy is, that if you shake up one part with a set of rocks, and then, like a while later, throw a different part in with those same or similar, the two parts won't look the same! Some might look more beat up, some might look less beat up. INSANITY! Unfortunately, science has not yet perfected a way to make randomly shaking parts up in a bowl of rocks result in parts that look all uniform, matching, or boring cookie cutter copies of each other. For now, you will have to settle for a unique, one of a kind finished product that might not perfectly match any other part or knife out there! If this scares you, then feel free to grab your purse and RUN (if you can in those heels).
