The Tuff-Writer Pens are designed for hard use. Today's market is filled with so called "tactical" pens that are made from inferior materials and poorly designed. Just being made from metal does not make a pen into a suitable self defense tool. When you compare a Tuff-Writer to these cheap, offshore pens, you can immediately discern the difference. From the precision machined components, to the superior grade of materials, to the heavy spring steel clip, you can tell that the Tuff-Writer is truly a pen ready for hard use.
The Tuff-Writer pen has both a pointed and round end and can perform both striking and pain compliance techniques. Its sharper end also makes an effective stylus for PDA type devices. They do not scream "weapon" and can be carried discreetly into places other instruments would be prohibited. The Tuff-Writer Pen uses the Fisher pressurized cartridge which means this pen can write at angles and high altitudes that a typical ball point cannot.
The Tuff-Writer Frontline Series are streamlined and feature machined knurling for grip. The short versions are closer to the length of a typical ballpoint pen. When compared to its longer Frontline brother, you do sacrifice some length for striking, but gain the ability to stow the pen in a typical shirt pocket.
