What is all this "thick stock" and "thin stock" stuff and how do I know if my knife will fit?: Strider produces most of their fixed blades in either .190 in or .250 in thick steel stock depending on intended use. They are commonly referred to as thin stock or thick stock respectively. This is despite the fact that the "thin" stock is still thicker than most of the other fixed blades on the market. The thin stock knives generally have better edge geometry for cutting, while the thick stock knives are more suited to prying and other tasks. Most DB's have been in the thicker stock. If you don't have a micrometer, take a look at the spine of your knife and if it is about 1/4 thick, it is a thick stock knife.
